We’re looking for an Account Manager to grow Spirit Cartel’s presence across Scotland, focusing on Edinburgh, Glasgow, and the surrounding prestige hotel districts. We are on an ambitious journey and looking for an experienced National Account Manager to help us shake up the retail sector.
The Role
This position is all about expanding our
footprint in the off-trade retail market. You will be the driving force behind
growing our premium spirits portfolio in prestige retail, indie retail, national
retail and e-commerce platforms, whilst building on initial success within the grocery
channel. You’ll
know how to make things happen — using your existing relationships where you
can, quickly identifying what’s needed, and building a clear path to deliver
it.
You’ll be commercially sharp and strategic, with a clear
understanding of the realities of building brands in market, while always
pushing to maximise visibility, value, and velocity across every retail
customer. You’ll likely be established in one retail channel already, but eager
to broaden your impact across the full off-trade landscape.
We’re looking for someone with strong off-trade experience, a
solid network, and a deep understanding of how commercial strategy translates
into listings, distribution, and long-term profitable relationships. You’ll
stay close to the market, tuned into trends and always alert to new
opportunities.
As this role covers a wide geographic area, strong
relationship-building skills — both in person and virtually — are essential.
Travel to meetings, customer visits, and our offices will also be necessary.
What You Will Be Doing
- Brand advocacy
– Demonstrating to customers the value of our brands. - Driving sales and
growth – Securing new listings, expanding distribution and smashing your sales
targets. - Strategic account
management – Building business plans, managing costs and maximising profit. - Commercial execution
– Negotiating and delivering commercial agreements with key retail players. - Market intelligence
– Staying ahead of trends and identifying opportunities for expansion. - Retail activation
– Delivering brand training, promotional activities and in-store activations.
What We Are Looking For
- Proven off-trade experience – A solid background in
selling spirits or drinks to the retail sector. - Commercially savvy – A strong grasp of retail margins,
ROI, and sales figures. - Industry knowledge – A deep passion for spirits,
including production methods and market trends. - A self-starter – Thrives on autonomy and developing
strategic business plans. - Exceptional communicator – Confident, persuasive, and
able to build relationships remotely. - Existing industry contacts – Already well-connected in
the retail drinks sector. - Flexibility and willingness to travel – While the role
is mostly remote, travel (including overnight stays) will be required. - Bonus skills – Brand training experience and cocktail
knowledge are a plus!
Working Pattern
This role is 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday (09:00 – 17:30pm) but the individual must be flexible according to event and business needs. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
