Rosaluna was launched in 2020 by JJ Mendez Leon, 6th generation mezcalero whose family has farmed agave in Santiago Matatan, Oaxaca since 1750. His great-grandfather introduced copper pot stills to the region in 1835. Rosaluna uses 100% 8-year-old Capon Espadin agave, roasted 7-8 days for a unique lightly smoked profile. Double-distilled in custom copper stills using 80% less water than traditional stills. USDA Organic, Non-GMO, Vegan, Kosher, Additive Free, and the first mezcal brand to receive the Distintivo Verde certification from COMERCAM. 1,400 trees planted in Oaxaca last year. Rated 94 points by the Tasting Panel, 90 at the Bartender Spirits Awards 2025.
