Four Roses Bourbon won a plethora of accolades at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC), including the prestigious 2016 Director’s Award, which seeks to recognize and reward an outstanding portfolio that has delivered in quality.
The 2016 Director’s Award also serves to recognize recently retired Four Roses Master Distiller Jim Rutledge’s final creations on the job, specifically the 2015 Limited Edition Small Batch Bourbon.
In addition, Four Roses Bourbon earned Double Gold for both its Single Barrel and 2015 Limited Edition Small Batch, and Gold for its Yellow Kentucky Straight Bourbon. Four Roses then went on to take the top honours for each of the Single Barrel and Small Batch judging categories, as well as the overall Best Bourbon in the competition.
“We are honoured to receive these accolades from one of the industry’s most prestigious competitions,” said Brent Elliott, master distiller at Four Roses Bourbon. “It’s great to see Jim recognized for his work with our portfolio and in particular the 2015 Limited Edition Small Batch. It was an honour to work side-by-side with Jim for more than ten years, and all of us at Four Roses were very proud of that particular Bourbon.”
The 2016 competition was held March 17-20 at Hotel Nikko in San Francisco. As one of the most respected and influential spirits competitions in the world, SFWSC carefully selects spirits-industry experts to serve on its judging panels.
