J. Bally is one of the oldest distilleries on the Caribbean island of Martinique. Since 1924 Bally has produced its famous vintage rum in Carbet, a particularly suitable zone of the island for the cultivation of sugar cane. Its products are French-style rhums agricoles, distilled not from molasses, as with many other rums, but from the juice of sugar cane harvested in the limited period between January and February. These rums are characterised by their delicate flavours, roundness on the palate and great fruit aromas.
Tasting Notes:
The nose is straightforward and powerful, with a hint of cinnamon, nutmeg, dried apricots, quince paste, cocoa and smoke. Beautiful balance on a powerful, well-structured rum, the alcohol is melted. Ample with roundness, notes of smoked wood, roasted and juniper, beautiful frank and tense length.
